Who had a Georgian phone number?
For Russian citizens, a Georgian +995 phone number was provided in 41.9% of cases. The share was 32.5% for citizens of Belarus, 26.2% for Ukraine and 17.5% for Kazakhstan.
Some of these foreign passport holders have probably already settled in Georgia and use a local phone number. Their insurance purchases show another feature of this group: how long they chose to be covered.
Among Russian citizens whose orders included a Georgian number, policies lasting more than 90 days appeared in 18.9% of cases. For Russian citizens with a phone number from another country, the share was 3.7%.
The same difference appeared among Ukrainian citizens: 21.7% with a Georgian number versus 4.4% with a foreign number. In both groups, long policies were chosen about five times as often when a +995 number was provided.
About the study
The study uses anonymised data from confirmed VisitGeorgia.online orders from January to September 2026. For each insured person, we looked at the citizenship entered for the policy, the phone number on the order and the policy duration. Repeat purchases were counted separately.
