Check your policy in 7 steps

Open your policy and its terms. Use the documents to answer; choose “Not sure” when a detail is missing. No document upload or personal data is needed.

Answered: 0 / 7

1. Does the policy cover Georgia?

Check the country and any territorial exclusions.

2. Is your entire stay covered?

Make sure cover runs from arrival to departure. Check for a waiting period or a limit on the length of your trip.

3. Are both health and accidents insured?

Baggage, cancellation or motor liability cover alone does not replace these risks.

4. Is the insured sum at least GEL 30,000?

For another currency, ask the insurer to confirm the equivalent amount.

5. Is the document in English or Georgian?

A paper or electronic policy is permitted. Save an offline copy.

6. Was it issued by an authorised insurer?

A Georgian or foreign insurer may issue it. Check its identity and authorisation for these risks.

7. Does the policy list the parties, risks and insurance terms?

Check your details, territory, dates, limits, policy price, and where and when payment is due.

The result depends on your answers and does not guarantee entry. This checklist does not replace document checks at the border. Resolution No. 602 describes special cases and exemptions.

Who this check is for

For tourists who already have a policy, whether bought separately, with a tour or through a bank. Read the document and terms rather than relying on the package name. The checklist follows Resolution No. 602, effective from 1 January 2026, and does not assess special entry categories.

What to do after the check

If you answer “No” or “Not sure”, ask your insurer about those items and request a corrected policy if needed. Even if every answer is “Yes”, check the exclusions for your trip and make sure the policy is paid for and valid.
